S. S. Dixon Primary and
Intermediate Schools are celebrating reading by donating
used books to the Friends of the Pace Library! Classes
that bring in the most books will receive a popcorn party
from the Friends! Thank You, students, teachers, and staff
for your support!

Reading just 20 minutes a day makes a difference!
Research shows that children who read just 20 minutes a day
are more successful students and have a reduced chance of dropping
out of school.

Your Friends Board of Directors works harder
and has more fun than anyone can imagine. Are you interested

Our
Goal for 2011-2012
The Friends of the Pace Library have set a goal
to raise $12,000 for the 2011-2012 budget year. The money will
be used to purchase books and other materials for the Summer
Reading program, and DVDs, CD's and books for the Pace Library
Collection. You can help by donating books and other materials
(see below), and by purchasing used books at the Library and
at Alyssa's Antique Depot on Chumuckla Road. Our Annual Book
Sale will be in March at the Pace First United Methodist Church.

to the Friends of the Pace Library, Inc.! We are a
private non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to
enhancing
the Pace Library through our fundraising
and advocacy efforts.
Here, you can find out the most up-to-date information
about the Friends, and upcoming events. Friends of
the Library supports local projects that enhance
the love of reading and life-long learning. We work
with all genres of people - new immigrants, children,
older adults, and everyone in between.
We hope that you’re as passionate about our library
as we are. Join the Friends of the Pace Library today,
and help us keep our library vital.

Pace Library
Did You Know?
You can select books and other materials
through the Santa Rosa County Library System online and pick
up those items later. You can make your selections anytime, browse
the entire collection, and make your choices. Items shelved in
other community libraries in Santa Rosa County may take a few
days longer to come in, but the Pace Library will send you an
email when they are available for pickup!

- All contributions will be deposited to the
Building Fund of the Friends of the Pace Area Library, Inc.
We are a Non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization. Your contribution
is a tax writeoff.
- Contributors will be recognized with plaques
in the library entryway, and on the library website. The library
might be named for your family member for a large contribution!
- All funds collected in this Building Drive
will be made over to Santa Rosa County at the time furnishings
are purchased.

With citizen contributions
we can:
- Provide a collection to
include audio books for senior citizens and current titles
for young and adult readers.
- Provide DVDs, videos, audiotapes,
and CDs.
- Provide comprehensive online databases.
- Provide adequate seating and shelving for
a user-friendly library.
- Provide computers for
all areas of the library.
- Provide display cases for
local history materials and artifacts.

The county library system
will provide the following services to patrons:
- Basic branch reference and
reader’s advisory services; critical listening, language,
and reader’s advisory services;
- Children’s and adult programs;
- Borrowing from
other branches;
- Coordination of Interlibrary Loan Requests;
- Work with literacy providers;
- Coordinate with local schools
on class assignments and
other activities.
