These are the Movers and Shakers of the Board of the Friends of the
Pace Library:
President: Jennifer Richardson has been married to
her husband Jim for ten years. They have two active boys, James 6, and
Jacob 3. Jennifer
is an internal medicine physician assistant and has been in private practice
for nine years. She volunteers at the Health and Hope clinic regularly
and loves living
in the community of Pace.
Vice-President: Mary Jane Yarrington retired in 1986
after 35 years of Federal government employment. She then went to work
as a senior
policy
analyst for theNational Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare,
and does an online Q&A answering questions on Social Security. She
is a member of St. Rose of Lima parish. is active in the St. Rose Ladies
Society, in Chapter 197 of theNational Active and Retired Federal Employee
association and
in the Panhandle Macintosh User Group club.
Secreatry: Ferryn Twarkins is a retired elementary principal
a member of the Gulf Coast Knitters Guild, church pianist and Sunday
School
teacher,
school volunteer and world traveler!
Treasurer: Martha Lyle is a retired elementary school
principal, a member of the Santa Rosa County Library Board, and Machine
Knitters of Pensacola,
and is a charter member of the Pace Library Friends. She holds a doctorate
from FSU, and loves to sew, read, knit, and do genealogy.
Board:
Ralph Crago is a computer professional working as a systems analyst at
Pensacola Junior College. He enjoys camping, computing, and his family
and friends.
Terry Crago is a charter member of the FPAL organization
and the library media specialist at Pea Ridge Elementary School. She
enjoys reading, camping,
and spending time with family and friends.
Kurt Norris is an avid reader and a Santa Rosa County
employee. Kurt’s
family goes back several generatios in Santa Rosa County.
Sean Quigley is a tax accountant, and is committed to the Pace community.
Tom Twarkins is a retired middle school teacher, who
loves working outdoors with plants. Tom has an educational materials
publishing business
and loves
to travel and meet new people.
Sharon Webb spent 17 years in the business world and
approximately 10 years at PJC as an adjunct in the Business Department.
She has a BS in
Business Teacher Education and a Masters in Vocational Education/Business
Education and graduated with honors from UWF in both programs. She taught
1 year at Gulf Breeze High School part time and at the PIC program when
it existed.
Paula Werber is a retired school library/media specialist
and a member of Baptist Hospital Women's Board, Cokesbury Methodist Church,
DAC (Daughter
of American Colonists), DAR (Daughters of American Revolution) for which
she is currently Registrar, Newcomers Club (Past President), Milton Garden
Club, Red Hat Mamas, Pensacola Symphony Guild. Les Gals Mardi Gras Krewe,
and Maids of Myrth Fiesta of Five Flags Krewe, Civil Aires, Curves, and
Navy Yacht Club.
The annual meeting of the Friends of the Pace Area Library is held in
February/March of each year. The Friends Board meets every
other month.
The Friends Members include seniors and retirees, mothers of young children,
students, and representatives of businesses. We are a pro-active, committed
group who love libraries!
