Silas Jernigan
Funeral services for Silas Jernigan, 80, of Pace,
who died last Thursday, were held Saturday from the
Stewart Funeral Home in Milton.
A life-long resident of Santa Rosa County, he was a
member of the First Missionary Baptist Church in
Pensacola and of the Golden Age Club of Pace.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Addie Jernigan;
two daughters, Mrs. Cecil Manning of Myakka City and
Mrs. Lettie Cosby of Pensacola; five sons, Steve W.,
J. R. and Clifton of Pensacola and Silas K. and Jack
D. of Milton; three sisters, Mrs. Lloyd Wheat of
Pensacola, Mrs. Myra McArthur of Milton, and Mrs.
Louise Hall of West Palm Beach; a brother, Frank
Jernigan of Pace; 11 grandchildren; and six great
grandchildren.
Services were conducted by the Rev. Wilson Garner
and the Rev. Dorsey Lord assisted by the Rev. Ed
Gould.
Burial was in the Elizabeth Chapel Cemetery with
Stewart Funeral Services directing.
